Lesson 35 · Lección trigésima quinta - Lección treinta y cinco
Future Simple (futuro imperfecto) in Spanish
Tercera carta de Miguel
, la calle de Alcalá
y la Castellana

The future tense of the indicative mood in Spanish is used to express an action that will take place in the future.
Futuro imperfecto is formed by adding the following endings to the infinitive of the verbs of all three conjugations:

Into English, the Futuro imperfecto form translates using the auxiliary verb will, for example:

Note that in Spanish, the simple future tense is expressed with a single word formed from the infinitive, whereas in English, it is a compound form, for example:

II. Translate into English:
Hoy he comprado una camisa y una corbata, porque todos vamos al teatro. Hemos comido en un restaurante, después hemos tomado café en un bar de la calle de Alcalá. Juan y yo hemos ido a la Plaza de España para ver el monumento a Cervantes. Por la noche he dormido bien, porque estaba cansado. Por la mañana he recibido cartas de Moscú, las he leído y me he levantado para ir a Correos.

III. Rewrite exercise II using the past verbs in Future simple.

IV. Translate into Spanish:
I often buy ties because I like beautiful ties and shirts. In Moscow I always bought them in a large store near my house. Today I bought ties in Madrid. I bought two ties for myself, but tomorrow I will buy for my father. I will also buy a Spanish mantilla for my mother. In Moscow I will give them all this. — With whom will you (p. f.) go to the store? — With Jose. — When will you see him? — Today in the afternoon. — We will also go with you and see what you buy. — Thank you very much. Then we will all go for a walk through the streets of Madrid. I will see Madrid at night and then I will write a letter to my parents.
