Сравните in и out:

in (в) = into a room, a building, a car etc.

out (из) = out of a room, building, a car etc.

  • How did the thieves get in?
    Как воры проникли внутрь? (досл.: вошли)
  • Here’s a key, so you can let yourself in.
    Вот ключ, чтобы вы могли войти сами.
  • Sally walked up to the edge of the pool and dived in. (= into the water)
    Салли дошел до края бассейна и нырнул.
  • I’ve got a new flat. I’m moving in on Friday.
    У меня новая квартира. Я переезжаю в пятницу.
  • As soon as I got to the airport, I checked in.
    Как только я прибуду в аэропорт, я зарегистрируюсь.
  • He just stood up and walked out.
    Он просто встал и вышел.
  • I had no key, so I was locked out.
    У меня не было ключа, поэтому я не мог попасть домой.
  • She swam up and down the pool, and then climbed out.
    Она проплыла в обе стороны бассейна, а затем вылезла (из него).
  • Tim opened the window and looked out.
    Тим открыл окно и выглянул (из него).
  • (at a hotel) What time do we have to check out?
    (в гостинице) В какое время нам нужно освободить номер?

Таким же образом вы можете сказать go in, come in, walk in, break in и др.

Таким же образом вы можете сказать go out, get out, move out, let somebody out и др.

  • I’m moving in next week.
    Я переезжаю на следующей неделе.
  • I’m moving into my new flat on Friday.
    Я переезжаю в мою новую квартиру в пятницу.
  • He walked out.
    Он вышел.
  • He walked out of the room.
    Он вышел из комнаты.

Другие глаголы + in

drop in / call in = заглянуть, заскочить, т.е. посетить кого-либо на короткое время незапланированно.

join in = присоединиться, т.е. принять участие в чем-то, что уже проводится

plug in an electrical machine = включать в сеть, вставлять вилку в розетку

fill in a form, a questionnaire etc. = заполнить бланк, анкету и др.

Вы также можете сказать fill out a form.

take somebody in = обмануть кого-либо


Другие глаголы + out

eat out = питаться вне дома

drop out of college / university / a course / a race = бросать (учёбу, работу и др).

get out of something that you arranged to do = избегать делать то, что вы запланировали

cut something out (of a newspaper etc.)

leave something out = omit it, not include it = пропускать, опускать, не включать

cross something out / rub something out = вычёркивать (вот так) / стирать (ластиком)
