Longest и most enjoyable – формы превосходной степени (superlative forms).

Превосходная степень образуется с помощью суффикса -est или вспомогательного слова most ... . В общем, мы используем -est для коротких слов и most ... для длинных. Правила такие же, как для сравнительной степени.

Несколько прилагательных неправильные:

Мы обычно используем определенный артикль the превосходной степенью (the longest / the most famous и др.):

• Yesterday was the hottest day of the year.
  Вчера был самый жаркий день года.
• The film was really boring. It was the most boring film I’ve ever seen.
  Фильм был очень скучным. Это был самый скучный фильм, который я когда-либо видел.
• She is a really nice person - one of the nicest people I know.
  Она очень милый человек - одна из милейших людей, которых я знаю.
• Why does he always come to see me at the worst possible moment?

Сравните превосходную и сравнительную степени:

• This hotel is the cheapest in town. (самый дешевый)

Oldest и eldest

Превосходной степенью для old является oldest:

• That church is the oldest building in the town. (not the eldest)
  Эта церковь – самое старое здание в городе.

Мы используем eldest (или oldest), когда говорим о людях в семье:

• My eldest son is 13 years old. (or My oldest son)
  Моему самому старшему сыну 13 лет.
• Are you the eldest in your family? (or the oldest)

Указывая место, после превосходной степени мы обычно используем in:

• What’s the longest river in the world? (not of the world)
• We had a nice room. It was one of the best in the hotel. (not of the hotel)

Мы также используем in для организаций и групп людей (a class / a company и др.):

• Who is the youngest student in the class? (not of the class)
